The 513 Riflesso Sideboard was designed by Charlotte Perriand for the manufacturer Cassina, a leading producer of Italian luxury furniture with a contemporary aesthetic.

An important figure in the modernist movement of the 1920s and 30s, Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999) collaborated with influential architects, such as Le Corbusier and Erno Goldfinger, as well as creating her own iconic designs, organizing events in promotion of her ideas and travelling widely.

Charlotte Perriand spend a good deal of time in Japan, and there’s an Asian influence to the 513 Riflesso Sideboard ,  a design which originally dates from 1939. This influence is apparent in its lacquered finish, its sliding doors and multiple cubbyholes, the temple-like overhanging eaves of the sideboard’s top and the rectangular feet which recall geisha clogs.
