Piet Hein Eek graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 1990.

In his work, he focuses mainly on material, manufacturing technique and craftsmanship. They are sturdy, authentic and durable. In 2010, he moved to a former factory with his company. There he opens a restaurant, a store, an art gallery and an event room. He has won countless awards and his works have been included in various museum collections.

Piet Hein Eek, was very inspired by de Visser’s furniture, which seduced the general public in a very refined way. He was strongly inspired by the SZ 73 chair. He copied the way the armrests are fixed to the wooden frame but enlarged the different parts. In this way, he transformed a 1968 model to adapt it to de Visser’s style of the 90s. The reinforced green fabric is a reference to the furniture in his own collection.
