Paola Navone studied at the Polytechnic school in Turin and graduated in 1973. While she was there she studied architecture and after moved to Milan to start her life as a designer.  From 1970 to 1980, she worked alongside Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass Jr. and Andrew Branzi in a group called Alchimia. She worked with many artists and designers to learn about different styles and take different techniques in her work.

Rafael is a collection of lounge furniture with possibly a coffee table. It is created to give a unique look to the most exclusive outdoor spaces. It uses nature’s changing and polyhedral shapes that find expression in the strength of the lines and materials.

The project is the result of Paola Navone’s ability to interpret and reinvent the aesthetics and formal thinking of distant cultures and landscapes, and Ethimo’s passion to create harmonious links between furniture and the surrounding environment.
